WALKING THE WAY TO HEALTH


Walk your way to good health and discover local places of interest in safety.
Walking is a gentle form of exercise and good for all ages and abilities
without the need for special equipment.
Portsmouth City Council organises a programme of free weekly walks led by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders throughout the city.

Walk No. 1 - Stamshaw Foreshore

The walk starts from Buckland Community Centre, Malins Road, Portsmouth every Tuesday morning at 10.30am.

Walk No. 2 - Baffins Pond/Milton Foreshore

Led walk every Wednesday, meeting at The Stacey Centre, Walsall Road at 10.00 am. A very enjoyable walk with a wealth of wildlife. Plenty of free parking. No need to book, just come along.

Walk No.3 - Canoe Lake/ Southsea Seafront

Led walk on Wednesdays, meeting outside the Canoe Lake Café, St Helens Parade at 10.00am. Plenty of on street parking. No need to book, just come along.

Walk No. 4 - Hilsea Lines

Led walk every Thursday, meet at Scott Road Car Park off Military Road, Hilsea at 10.30 am. Enjoy the wildlife on this beautiful country walk. Those who want to do a little more can continue around the Western Moat. Free parking. Not suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. No need to book, just come along!

Walk No. 5 - Victoria Park

On Mondays, 10.00am meet at Asda, The Bridge Centre. A nice easy walk to the City's Victoria Park with it's attractive planting.

Walk No. 6 - Pier to Pier

Every Monday afternoon. Start 1.00pm, meet at South Parade Pier. Walk the length of the Seafront from South Parade Pier to Clarence Pier.

Walk No. 7 - Early Bird

Every Tuesday, 7.00am meet at The Pyramids Leisure Centre. Awaken your mind and body! Feel refreshed and ready for the day ahead!

Walk No. 8 - Old Portsmouth

Every Wednesday. Start at 1.30pm - meet at the Royal Garrison Church. Enjoy the historic buildings and atmosphere of Old Portsmouth.

Walk No. 9 - Milton Foreshore

On the 2nd and last Sunday of each month at 3.00pm - meet at The Good Companions, Moorings Way. A 2-3 mile scenic walk across Milton Common and foreshore.

Walk No. 10 - Lunchtime Walk

Take a break. Every Tuesday at 12.15. Meet outside the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth
